Day 91 - July 10 - Interlaken, Switzerland – 30 miles by bike - Our cozy train couchette was not as restful as we had hoped. Slept fitfully, awakening at every stop. Gave up hope about 5:00 am, near Basil, Switzerland. We bought coffee and croissants from a boy pushing a cart up the isles of the train – ninety cents for a cup of coffee - that woke us up! (Being offended by a 90 cent cup of coffee sounds pretty funny in the Starbucks age, no?)
At the station in Interlaken we collected our bikes, which were starting to show a few battle scars. It took a few minutes to switch our mirrors back over to the correct (left) side and got rolling about 10:00.
Leaving the pretty resort town of Interlaken, we rode east on Highway 6/11 along the north shore Brienzer See, a large natural lake. Hot, sunny day, smooth flat pavement, superb mountain scenery reflected in the clear green lake.
